Understanding your Victims Services approval for counselling

How the NSW Victims Services Approved Counselling Scheme works, what your approval covers, and what to do before you contact our clinic.

Updated 28 July 2026

Victims Services is a NSW Government program that may approve counselling for people affected by crime. If you have received an approval, it will specify a number of sessions and an approved period. We provide counselling under that approval; we do not decide whether you are eligible and we cannot assist with the application itself.

If you have not yet applied, you can do so through the NSW Government website. Victims Services or a recognised support service can also help you with the application process.

When you contact us, please provide your approval details so we can confirm that your sessions are covered. We will explain how billing works and whether any gap fees apply.

Your approval is between you and Victims Services. We deliver the clinical service and report against the sessions used, as required by the scheme.
